On mine there is a manual release on the front by the lead connections, can't remember exactly, could be on then hydraulic fluid tank.

Looks like a screw, make sure this is fully tight.

Worth a look.

 

What he said. It's the manual lowering valve - mine has a knurled silver head that you push in and turn to let the ram/body drop through gravity. If this isn't fully reset the body will slowly lower on its own. It can get pretty stiff though.

12v Electric pump

 

On the pump tank unit there is a solenoid valve and a spring loaded pressure relief valve. Chances are its a bit of crud under one or the other, its usually the PR because crud under the solenoid side of things tends to free itself.

 

Only work on the hydraulics with the tipper down

It was suggested to take the forked washer from under the manual release valve nut, allowing it to go further in. This i did & it now stays up! Seams very strange as the manual pump & release side of things have never been used from new 14 year ago.
