Greasebanks on chippers, a good idea?

Having been at first recently collecting a new st6 with a colleague. We were told the following:-

"The pipes are designed to split if over greased, better the pipes split than have too much grease shoved into a bearing"

How you supposed to know they split if all behind the covers then? Surely if this was the true reason it would make more sense to put in a valve of some description that let some grease out?

I'm glad that's not mentioned in the manual, or to me when my tr6 was delivered. Does anyone else smell bull?

That's the best one I've heard for a while.

Actually I got told a belter a couple of weeks ago!

 

The reason tw don't put a bonnet on the little petrol 125/160 is because tree surgeons fell trees on in and brake it so you have to buy a new one so saving you money ! I s hit you not.
