  2. I appreciated it, thanks. It was one of the four new words for me. I looked up the first couple but couldn't be bothered there after.
  3. Today
  4. I remember it well !🙂 Hello my darlings ...
  5. I used JB weld and a small sheet of aluminum to seal the oil tank on a 372 once . Picked up a stone and punched a hole in the front below the muffler .
  6. I had this crap with my building plot. The neighbour parked a car on part of the boundary which she was adamant she was entitlement to do even though she had to drive over my ground to park. We tried the legal route which failed so i promptly dragged the car from there and build a big retaining wall which did the job.
  7. 660s are pretty bullet proof. There is no history listed...has the machine been ported recently or has it been running for years and just started playing up? It could be seals gone but that takes time, a split inlet manifold or an impulse line come off? If ported recrntly, did the fella vac and pressure check the saw...I always did. Does it have one of those big bore kits on it? If so, it will be leaking from the base gasket. It is strange that it takes time to play up. Is the carb OEM?
  8. found a few pics, one of the cars I built, and a bike from my "Mad Max" post apocalyptic era. "The Toecutter,He knows who I am" the old cresta, purple haze 'cos I like hendrix, and the wifes '63 chevy pickup, with a '76 Camaro 350 hp motor.
  9. Probably the greatest visionary politician ever - it was like he had a crystal ball!
  10. Try to hear this through. Rudyard Lake at 'unprecedented' low level after dry spring - BBC News WWW.BBC.CO.UK The reservoir falls to about 30% of its capacity following one of the driest springs on record.
  11. When this thread as started in April I took some cuttings - similar idea to you, put in a bucket of water for 6 weeks or so till they sprouted decent roots and planted out - most are still going strong but they have a lot of summer competition (brambles, weeds, grasses...). Expecting them to be about 1m tall next summer.
  12. Sorry to hear that. Hope you're well.
  13. Student tells court he 'did not know' police officers he hit at Manchester Airport were women APPLE.NEWS A student has told a jury he did not know that two police officers he hit to the floor within seconds at... Unbelievably this crap is still being dragged out at taxpayers expense
  14. AHPP

    Chickens?

Two chicks still alive and growing.
  15. 200L over six months works out as a litre a day. A couple of big saws would easily gobble that up. My previous 25L Rotatech oil, with still a couple litres left, was opened Jan '24.

  17. No clue but someone should be able to help! Well help with the ident, there isnt usually anything you can do to help the tree or stop the fungi.
  18. I have the Record No.6 fore plane I queued for in the fifties, It was a Saturday morning in a dedicated tool shop, Skeet and Jeffes, and one took a plastic number from a caddy and waited to be called, the service was terrible. It's under my bed to keep it rust free. We have a cluster of asbestos related disease locally, associated with the local gasket factory, the medical officer, my GP in 1972, was in denial about it then, when I left the practice (after 71 years) I noticed his name was not in the practice history.
  19. Yes, it's a very long time since I was involved in conifer plantation forestry and I cannot remember it causing significant damage to douglas but things have moved on and its hotter and drier plus you are a few hundred miles south and further from the coast, so hotter still.
  20. amazing what you can hide with a couple of passes with the mulcher

  24. Hi Mowandgo! Did you ever figure out was causing your mantis Honda gx25 tiller to cut out at high rpm? I replaced the fuel filter and lines on mine and fixed the engine from turning off today and it seemed to run fine for awhile at full throttle but started to lose a little power and almost seemed like it was skipping, it’s extremely hot today in NC. but I’m thinking it’s the coil or valves. It has new plug, air and fuel filter and fuel lines. checked the oil to make sure it was ok, it was full but like thin cooked hot water. I’ve never understood how lawn mowers, motorcycles and tillers last so long. It was having the exact same issues as yours though, been a great tiller. Thanks and have a great one. sundrop.
  25. Thats a good call , yep Just to split hairs forget my original " hornbeam " and I'm going with Cob Nut . 🙂
