  1. Past hour
  2. Surely you have a way of working without radios or phones?
  3. Absolutely. Unless you want to die, if the operator hauls in and you're in the zone chokering you are as good as dead. And no we don't use those horn things that American's use. Don't even know if you can get them. And I doubt you'd hear them that far up a hill surely in the weather we get in these places.
  4. 😂😂😂😂 If you have to use radio to communicate and they fail do you stop work ?
  5. Grenadier is over priced and unproven someone that basis I would get a car based land cruiser
  6. I can assure you this is the ONLY thing they have ever bought us. And they are all under warranty. Can't really say they're that great for reliability. Defos make the job a lot safer and easier. @Botty Cough doubt you'd be able to see a high vis jacket never mind a hand gesture from bottom to the top of this. Hand signals probably work when you're mincing around little Miss Daisy's garden meadow snipping her hedges but not here. Xxxxxxxxx
  7. That's B30, commonly known as dirty thirty at sellafield. Seagulls would sit on the water, absorb a little radiation and poo all over the lake district, leaving a radioactive trace wherever they went. It's currently in the process of being cleaned up.
  8. Never needed to as we all sign
  9. ever tried comms??! the difference is night and day, think old skool nokia phone texting compared to face to face talking.
  10. That’s you assuming again I see either that or you lead a blinkered existence
  11. we had somthing pretty similar, worked well, somtimes problems in the wet and trying to connect more than 3 people was a bit hit and miss, but over all ok.
  12. I'll bet you 50p you can't get the parts or get the 500 apart without breaking it.
  13. My 460 has just exploded so I am looking for a similar sized saw to fix up. I’ll buy yours in a flash!
  14. reminds me of a story I was told - one of our Nuclear facilities had to put covers on a water tank... local woman feeds the birds every morning, birds fly off to pond for a swim and a drink, next morning go back for food and a poo, her garden was glowing. Cannot tag the wild birds.
  15. Wait until they have proven the vehicles work and buy something older that's tried and tested ..
  16. i used this set up with my knee asscender, it worked well.
  17. Yep same with anything these days. Built to run the warranty period and if it fails before that period expires they fix it and upgrade the manufacturing of later models. Nothing is built to be maintained anymore
  18. I wouldn't disagree however if you read my post correctly I say they are disposable.
  19. There were a lot of 462s with bearing failures when they first came out, parts quality is very questionable of late from all manufacturers and saws are just lasting out of warranty then going kaput. phone Stihl and complain if it’s within warranty I have in the past and they have honoured the problem and dealt with it
  20. Bullshit. Cars, saws, TVs are better, more powerful and last longer than ever before
  21. Today
  22. Unfortunately modern equipment is now disposable so I wouldn't bother fixing it . Doesn't matter what you buy anymore. Cars , saws, chip fryers etc etc.... and it's lucky dip if you get a good item.
