  2. Newer stoves , burn more efficiently and re burn some of the gases , our stove is exempt from the legislation. Second thing yes or apparently so with moisture content .
  3. I don’t think you can still buy wood burners that don’t afterburn or something, secondary burn maybe is the phrase. Do they have a law in the uk about moisture content from fire wood suppliers?
  4. Pheasant casserole and dumplings incoming.
  5. Its hornbeam.
  6. fair play, after zooming in, beech wouldn't have been my first guess, another guess - it's a broadleaf, another guess horse chestnut
  7. Its a load of shite, its people burning 'dirty' wood on a fire, albeit if its tanalised, painted or other shite . That's where the problem lies
  8. Today
  9. Too fluted for beech.

  12. Maybe an escaped pollard of a Hornbeam to be more specific.

  14. Mick, I'm a sceptical that it wouldnt jump straight off again but will try it, if, but hopefully there wont be a next time.. thanks. Currently printing one of these as a chain storage box. Needs to be scaled 125% or so, as its a bit small. https://makerworld.com/models/1665725

  17. Heres a little tip. Next time your topper throws a chain and the drive links get burred so it won’t fit into the guide bar. Re fit the chain super loose, then hold it in its normal position (handle upright as if you were cross cutting a horizontal log) Start the saw and rev it up for 4/5 seconds, the burrs will wear off and the chain will slot into the bar. Stop the saw and tighten to normal tension. Finish the job, collect the money, live happily ever after.
  18. so now I guess the rubber boats will be coming from both directions.
  19. Agreed, Hang on there’s a knock at the door…..

Well they certainly know the job, and never entirely gave up their arms. That’s gonna be some brutal and swift justice for any illegal whom oversteps the mark.
  21. Could be a hornbeam
  22. Hi i know nothing about trees was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of tree this tganks
  23. Yes it will undo them, hand will hurt before the plastic breaks, no problem unless they are done up stupidly tight - thats a bad idea as most modern, lightwieght professional grade saws, the studs are only threaded into plastic!
  24. By definition, if you follow Islam, then that is at the expense of all others that don't. Some followers take it to the extreme, the majority don't but the end goal is the same for both.
  25. I'm not so sure about that theory, but you may well be correct, but my gut feeling is states like California (notoriously strict on emissions) insisted on machines being run on a more modern 50:1 mix oil, rather than it being developed specifically for California, or the US in general. I have been around oils all my working life....21 years in the motor trade, and now nearly 26 in the garden machinery sector, and like most things they develop with new technology thats available....well, a combination of costs and technology for most companies, so if you can develop a more man made laboratory oil, that will give better protection than something you have to drill out the ground, thus giving you more profit and a better product to the consumer, then it's a win win.

  27. I’m afraid the Muslim Brotherhood and their ilk are a bit like Japanese knotweed. Very difficult to root out! As long as there is Islam there will always be these sort of terrorists!
