  1. Past hour
  2. Government launches Orgreave inquiry, 40 years after clashes at miners’ strike APPLE.NEWS Move follows decades of campaigning over violent policing and collapsed prosecutions at South... A long long time overdue, sadly after the police have had the time to destroy much of the evidence.
  3. If they fold though I am thinking the new owner would have to pick up the debts - the receivers will then own all the assets to be sold off to the highest bidders? Still going to cost a fortune either way
  4. sime42

    Chickens?

  5. What are people doing with strawberries in regards to keeping them for next year? Lots of mine didn't produce fruit this year and usually I just let them die and buy new ones the year after. My ones are normally in hanging baskets or strawberry planters ie not grown in the ground.
  6. AHPP

    Chickens?

The sum total of my chicken knowledge is in this thread.
  7. On the mundane level of actual shopping - I don't rate the Aldi trolleys: they've got no hook on which to hang your bags.
  8. I woulda gone Waitrose or B/M Top dollar or bottom of the barrel, anything else is just chav IMO.
  9. sime42

    Chickens?

How long do they take to get from egg to full sized chicken?
  10. We had to deliver a pissed up mate of ours to A&E once in a Sainsbury's trolley. (With claimed broken ankle, believed by no-one else). They laughed us away at the entrance.
  11. Forget buy back - force them to fix the issues, penalise them heavily if/when they don’t, leave them to fold (no bailouts) and then take them back under government control.
  12. It's the double standards thing again. Plus the trying, but failing, to pass off BS as fact. (By ranting it rabidly, repetitively and rancourously).
  13. Today
  14. What I notice is that, regardless of political ideology, it is always possible to find at least some common ground with anybody else on here. As I believe you have found out. With the notable exception of said person, who always seems strongly averse to admitting any kind of common ground whatsoever with anyone he holds a grudge against. I'd even go as far as to say that he deliberately seeks to stoke division and bad feeling at any given opportunity. It comes across as the sole raison d'etre in fact. As for anonymity, who cares? I don't, that's for sure. I may be wrong but I don't believe most people on here do. It makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. If people want to maintain it then fair enough. On the other hand, if people want to share lots of details on stuff like their hourly rate/income tax level/tastiness of their day rate then that's also fair enough. You I think, don't wish to share your name, that's fine.
  15. The NHS will always be on its knees, if it wasnt its budget would be cut prompto. It will always be begging for money thats how these organisations work. You will never see a private hospital saying its struggling and the patients are being strewn out in asda trolleys in the car park and left to fend off malicious seagulls. I reckon a scramferiously amount of money is wasted by old people just wanting a chat with their GP and pissed up fckers sucking up the A an E on a fri/sat night.
  16. I don't get all this NHS failing talk, of course it could be better, but people are still having chemo on it that didnt even exist at the turn of this century. Loads of customers Ive met have had knees and hips done. Cataracts, triple heart bypass etc. So what if there are people on trolleys in the corridors? Its still way better than what they had in the middle ages
  17. Edinburgh, Tenement, Top floor flat - immediately makes me think of the film Shallow Grave. OP - dehumidifier is probably the way to go.
  18. Done. Good shout mate. A friend of mine at work arranged to have a representative come in to give us a talk about their work a couple of years back. They deserve and need all the pennies they can get.
  19. This, they dont cost much and you will be surprised at the amount of water they pull out.
  20. Loose ends Blagger. You don't have a leg to stand on, again. Is the NHS failing because of illegal immigrants? Yes or No. For such a rabid advocate of straight talking you've gone uncharacteristically as coy as a Carp, so I think you must have seen sense after all. I could keep asking this question for months, and months, and months.............. and maybe years, until everyone is bored witless. I fear I'd look like a proper nutjob lunatic though.
  21. The problem is once the damage is done, its basically irreversible. Its not like they are going to knock down a wall or fence that can easily be replaced. Tough situation, I dunno what the answer is. Its not like they can threaten prison time if he cuts their tree to bits, it may be a fine and that might not be deterrent depending on how many dollars he has.
  22. It might be a good idea to install a couple of trail cameras on your property, placed at strategic points but not obvious to any potential trespassers intent on tree damage, could prove useful at a later date.
  23. Now that, is a collection of saws! 👍
  24. Don’t, just don’t 😂
  25. At the sensible suggestion of a fellow member,[thanks, you know who you are] this is the place to post those saws ya'll have either tucked away, or being used to pay the bills, all welcome, saw related stuff only please. ok lets give a shot. here's most of mine, I can do more pics of individual saws if need be.
  26. You never actually answered did you, do any of these South African buddies you know look like South Africans? A quick pic to remind you want South Africans look like.
  27. That’s the bones of it.
