  2. I automatically paid my blokes from 8 until 17:30, if I took on jobs two hours away, that was my choice and not theirs so they got paid! I didn't have a 'travel' rate and labour rate.... I did once deal with a contractor who only paid 'time on site' and wondered why folk signed up!
  3. ‘Nature’s original engineers’: scientists explore the amazing potential of fungi | Fungi | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Unique properties of fungi have led to groundbreaking innovations in recent years, from nappies to electronics
  4. Yes, I think you are both saying the same thing here, if the BBC (or others) report something then they have to be able to stand by their reports as accurate. A correction should have been made, and it was. but.... shouldn't ever happen. Control of the press has been the tactic of tin pot dictators through history - any countries leader that is honourable and able to defend their actions would never control the press like Trump is trying to do... the BBC will be wary of any critical pieces from now on, which is a bad thing. Noting that the UK - according to the World Press Freedom Index (Wikipedia it) - ranks about 20th in 180 countries, the US is about 60th - British journalists are afforded a lot more freedom to report than their US based peers. Perhaps Trump doesn't like that much either (that last sentence was of course, an opinion). But that goes back to what you are both saying, our national press needs to be trusted. It also needs the freedom to report - accurately - as it sees fit. One last problem is that while the press organisations have standards, more and more people are getting their news reports from social media - linkedin, facebook, bebo and so on - who are not obliged to uphold any standards and what is posted there should be seen as opinion pieces only. Very easy for them to push an agenda by what articles they promote and there is little control of that (see the last elections with Cambridge analytics (?) doing that). At least the BBC is kind of unbiased with their reporting (some reports are biased one way, some the other but as a whole, generally neutral). Back to yesterday though, (opinion here) Trump is milking this presidency for all he can get, far more than any others did before.
  5. I can have a look, do you have a photo or two of the DCS2500 hook? I've not yet used one and I am not finding a good pic on google. On the DCS does it have a seperate lanyard ring or does the hook replace that? I'm happy printing stuff just cover the postage.
  6. Malus

    Jokes???

Don't tell anyone but I stole a load of oak boards last week. Quercus robber.
  7. Have you thought of the fibreglass live line rods with a saw or parrots beak sniper? Each rod is 4ft long and I regularly had a stack of 15 plus upright!
  8. Today
  9. Igor has had a bit of a improvement lately. Slipped seamlessly into the routine of staying at home, short walks and eating good food. Arthritis under control, doesn’t seem to have as many fits. Health generally good these days, didn’t think he’d make Christmas but looks like he’ll go on for a bit yet.
  10. We also had a land agent who was excellent and we talked through our options over the 2 yrs, his advice once we had a sale agreed was take the sale and run.

  12. Maybe fuel from a certain garage is dire then, and i should use fuel from a different garage! But the will be weeks where it doesn't get used ,thats when the damage seems to happen -pipes going brittle and carbs playing up... and in the sediment bowl is a dubious white grease/lard deposit
  13. AHPP

    Husky junk

How does E85 work and not rot all suchfuelled machinery to instant death?
  14. Hahahahaha! Great minds Steve!
  15. I don’t understand anyone still using E10 in any machine. Is it really worth the cost saving? It’s shite. Reuben your situation is baffling. I know you aren’t some cretin who doesn’t understand machines or mix, so it isn’t user error. Husky gear is generally pretty good, as most of us know. Have you been saying nasty things about the government on the internet? They may have sent an elite hit squad to screw your machines.
  16. Can't say what id like to do with them
  17. I dont know , ive tried genuine carbs and non genuine carbs ,still had issues ,got rid ov the Honda engine on and either replaced them with loncin or Villiers..id love to put standard petrol in them but for the cost of carbs and down time I think il stick sthil 4 stroke, sometimes thirsty but easier and no issues with carbs or pipes . Its doing my nut in crap fuel. 2 pulls and its running
  18. I blame the Labour Government 🤔 Ed Milliband and his net zero must be involved somehow.
  19. So any recommendations? Please? Don't want cheapy..Good picture quality, memory, whatever. Needs to o be good.
  20. Over a couple of years I have been given half a dozen four stroke pedestrian mowers that the owners have failed to start after being over wintered. They have been replaced with battery powered ones. All of them had gummed up idle jets.
  21. That is exactly the point. The BBC could never prove that Trump was the most corrupt US president. Especially as only one US President has resigned due to corruption (Nixon). It was unsafe and unprovable so it was removed. Seems fair to me. And yes I agree there is undoubtedly a degree of corruption in the Trump administration. And Biden’s and Obama’s etc, etc. And indeed the current Uk government, the previous government, and so on. Much as I sometimes hate the media, we really do depend on them to point the finger when there is evidence. But am I OK with them self censoring? Yes absolutely, if Trump has made them examine their output to see if it is accurate then thank Trump for that. Remember that as long as they can prove the accuracy of a statement they cannot be sued for it. The problem is if they start making statements or giving opinions which are disputed. We could argue all year about who was the most corrupt US President; but if you state that Trump said this and did that then as long as he did, that cannot end up in court. I do however agree that freedom of speech in the UK is being seriously undermined at the moment, but that is largely by our own government. The fact we even have a free speech union is shocking enough. And the examples recently of arrests for what people have said are state over-reach becoming very sinister. But the finger of blame points at our controlling establishment (government, police, councils, schools, universities) not Trump.
  22. Another thing that properly boils my pith: When householders/gardeners historically tip their garden waste into the neighbouring woodland... it's blatantly and obviously fly-tipping (therefore illegal), but impossible to prosecute, without trip-cam evidence, or similar, I'd guess.. One Cheshire woodland I worked in has several hook-loaders worth of garden debris, from just five large houses (£1m+).. But two successive land agents haven't exactly done much about it, despite my questions.. 🤔 Gurr..
  23. @kram I'm always impressed to see practical harnessing of 3D printers -and have a question/job for you: Is it possible you might be able to flex your entreprenurial skills, to make up an 'adaptor piece', to allow the handy 'flip-out' harness hook, from a dcs2500 to be fitted/screwed onto a top-handled 2511 saw ?? If it works OK, I would be happy to pay/buy one -possibly along with quite a few others on here, I suspect ? At, say, £20- each x a few hundred sales(?), it might be a little incentive to consider ? No apology for the Thread-derail -I would plead there is a strong shared common interest here, your Honour..
  24. Have tried e10 in the chipper, if machines left (Honda gx390) I still get a fecking gammy carb, pipes then I end up putting a new carb on it after normal fuel, dunno.if its the local garage but premier fuel still has the same outcome
  25. Sorry for not signing in this morning , My computer has had a failure of the bit that connects to the internet . On my daughters borrowed lap top now .
