  2. Morning all, Heavy rain due for next couple of hours, so playing wait and see, as job is not a full day, might avoid getting PWT.

  12. Not on your list but I have a 71 plate Nanara Nguard . Few problems innitially but fixed under warranty ( 5 years ) . Re desighned turbo pipe . The original wheeped oil causing sensors to fail . All good now . It should have been on a re call but I never got the letter .
  13. Dry today, got some fairly routine reductions/topping to do. Junior climber making big strides daily in moving to β€˜climber’ status. Have a good Tuesday.
  14. In Lavant village .
  15. As Mick above . Especially 70cc upwards . Battery tech has not got there ( yet ) for larger saws .
  16. Dangerous for new Dad's, up at night feeding the bairn and scrolling through machinery listing's looking for something to buy. Be careful Stevie! Up, had the tea, away down south to see people with big chipper hanging off the truck! Be good folks. Hoe, Mad, Dress.
  17. " wonky elbows " .
  18. I buy a new wet weather jacket most years, this year I got a Treeland chasse (hunt) type one, around a €100 and chasse stuff is usually pretty robust. It’s always a compromise between staying dry from the rain and moving freely and not being soaked in sweat. I’m not climbing in the pissing rain, and if it’s forecast all day I’m on the sofa watching Everyone Loves Raymond or Frasier. If I was climbing up and down a railway embankment pulling gorse to a chipper I’d probably take more effort in choosing.
  19. No, I don’t see an issue getting two stroke chainsaws in the near to medium future.
  20. Morning! πŸ˜΄πŸ˜‚
  21. My meaning was waterproof jackets, I'll often wear a fleece if I'm standing around waiting but if its wet, its not going to help and I'll leave it in the car. Yes weather is a lot easier here in the south. Its hot weather that I have more problems with.
  22. Holy shit! I thought I had a problem!! 🀣🀣🀣 I watch that American TV show β€˜Hoarders’ and see stuff I need πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜… You must be giving Buckin’ Billy Ray a run for his money there, minus the McCulloch bias. Respect! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜‚
  23. not so much , backed into a corner, more like running outta room. there's probably another few dozen not shown.
  24. Yesterday
  25. Hello friends, Is anyone else becoming increasingly concerned about the seeming inability to access a decent range of petrol powered 2 stroke chainsaws? When I got into this whole scene I was spoilt for choice. I was a Stihl fanboy on the back of my FS90 being such a nice trimmer. A salesman talked me out of buying a Stihl MS211 (I think) and I bought a Makita DCS4300 which was a great decision. I now have a small collection on my hands, and am seeing the brands I could pick up readily, (often for a song) disappearing as the push for so called β€˜green’ alternatives are being pushed. I have nothing against battery powered tools per se, but would like the choice to buy those or a petrol equivalent. Since it seems the likes of Makita (Dolmar),Solo, Efco, Jonsered, Shindaiwa etc have all but disappeared we now have a very sickly choice at the β€˜sub pro’ end of the market for decent chainsaws. As a result I’m getting increasingly tempted to snaffle up as much remaining petrol powered inventory as I can before it’s too late! Anyone else feeling somewhat backed into a corner as regards chainsaw power options?
  26. not jesting but its difficult to prove either way unless you can time travel? Lifespan depends on hours of use, style of use, maintenance and a bit of chance. I used to just go for pro saws but even they can fail. Ive recently realised that there is value in having a small cheap saw as part of the collection. I can lend it out and if it fails it doesnt matter as much. I too had a 028 that lasted 20 years until there was an issue with the crank and seals, and an 088 that is still going but I think larger engines always tend to last longer. Im not convinced today’s MS saws are as tough as the 0-somethings , but we’ll see. My piston is already a bit scored after 3 years and Ive had to replace a lot of parts.
