@Johnsond without foreign citizens willing to work for sht sallary EU and UK would be in prolonged recession... BAD stuff economically speaking...

@Mick Dempsey Orban is a very corrupt and very dangerous individual. Has his whole family and close friends in various theft schemes involving public money or even EU funds/money. A true snake and cameleon at the same time! As for oil and gas "needed" in Hungary: Croatia alone can replace and supply ALL of the oil or gas needed in 24 hours! They said it long ago but Hungary refused and still buy russian oil and gas! That says a lot about Orban ,Hungary and what happened lately with the 1 year exemption, even of Trump... Thiefs and criminals in power, corruption is just a joke allready... 😱 Nevermind wars...(still ongoing)... P.S. we had just recently russian drones bomb Ukraine AGAIN hundreds of meters from Romanian people's houses... What Trump is doing? absolutely nothing... besides stopping conpletely any arms delivery to Ukraine..

@sime42 asbestos, formaldehide and you're still here 😁 Anyway: burning oak ,hornbeam or any other wood in log form is nice. But if we would all heat our homes with only that,I'm sure we'd run out of forests to cut... 😂 Maybe if we'd live in Siberia we wouldn't run out of trees to cut... But as is, new forms of useable energy should be tried. Although Navien , NTI caprice 85 or even Kiturami condensing oil boilers are "tempting things" to have and use 😁 I myself am "cheating" still having installed some time ago a new condensing gas central heating just to be safe and instant hot water.. Unless using mechanized stuff at every stage, getting dried firewood will be labour intensive. At least here in Romania...

Kind of review for tracked wood chipper SZ130
green heart replied to covex's topic in Large equipment
So yesterday I had a chipper demo over at MDL Power up, in Carlisle. Also present, was a well-known contributor to this site, and his hound.. From the demo -and subsequent discussions with MDL's office manager, it only now transpires that this 4'' tracked chipper is actually designed for the production of wood-pellet feedstock ! -No, NOT wood chipping!? So it's great at very slowly turning 1'' to 3'' diameter branches into saw dust-like particles -that do happily blow everywhere... We didn't bother trying to chip 4'' hawthorn or cypress, that would be just asking too much, I think. In an effort to produce some actual wood chippings, I swiftly removed the substantial main screen -but no real change, just as covex said above. We then proceeded to remove the 8 off swinging drum hammers, leaving just the two chipping blades. Surprisingly, there was still no change to the particular size output... It has many plus points -but is useless for my needs, unless I diversify into pellet production ! In defence of the unit, the engineer did insist on turning the hydraulic feed-speed down to a snails pace.. 😏 -
During burning. I can generally tell if someone is burning chipboard, mdf or plywood as I walk past, by the smell. Though if you burn it hot enough there should be no smell, as if you walk by a crematorium you won't notice a mdf coffin burning by the smell. This is because everything has to reach a temperature of 1200C for 1.5 seconds before being sent up the chimney. Event then is has to reach a ejection velocity at the top of the stack ( I can't remember how many metres/second ) that the hot gases carry on up a long way before they are diluted and dispersed.

On closer inspection, I think you're right actually. The blocks do look more like coarse chipboard, without the shiny surface of melted lignin. That's a shame. Do you mean smell the formaldehyde before putting on the fire, or during burning? I can't in either case. Though I'm not surprised at the latter as it's in a closed wood burner. What are the products of combustion? Its simple chemical structure suggests not much, but it's been too many years since I've thought about chemistry. One of my jobs as a teenager was to go up on to the roof of a barn that my parents used as a large workshop, multi vehicle garage and general storage place, to clean the numerous sky lights. I had to scrub them with a formaldehyde solution to get rid of the moss and algae that built up. Don't think I'll ever forget the smell. I can smell/taste/feel it now when I think about it. Oh, and the roof was composed of asbestos cement sheets. Nice.

Slightly undue mockery. A tenner a year (plus the fcking on though) or not, it's still melting itself. You wouldn't be impressed if your car melted its own bumper.
-
The landlord of my local noticing I'd had a few told me, don't drive your car home tonight you'll crash it, take a bus,,, didn't help, I crashed that fecker too.

My boss in 2005 had a 2" briquette maker and that only used sawdust and the theory was as you say, same with pellets but the friction only causes a thin skin of plasticised lignin, so the larger diameter briquettes tended to fall into wafers if miss handled. You could somehow increase the pressure but this would get so hot they would blacken and produce acrid smoke. Incidentally he was involved with making a machine that made straw "pucks" for burning, it was so mechanically stressful that it was always breaking so they gave up with it. On the smaller pellet machines, which were basically feed cubers, a by product of semi chemical pulp making was used to make up for the lower pressures. It was something like sodium lignosulphite from dissolving the lignin from the pulp. I think those pallet blocks are basically a form of chip board, as such they will be about 7% formaldehyde glue, the smell of which is fairly characteristic so you should be able to tell.

There is a very simple reason why Poland and Hungary do not have the same issues as many other western countries. 1 million a day fine that’s an absolute bargain compared to what the UK is paying to keep all the illegals.

Ex US army tank commander( no mean feat to achieve that in any western army) , about to lose his house business etc alcohol and drugs played a part. Tank was bellied out on the central reservation concrete barrier, oh and the police shot and killed him. So yeah they did do something about it. He did a lot of property damage but did not harm anyone in the process.

I feel the same way when my 2511 runs out of fuel/oil. Why should I have to pay to refuel it? Echo have stopped answering my emails.

Real wood briquettes are stuck together solely with the inherent Lignin I think, which melts under the high pressures and temperatures involved in the manufacturing process. So there shouldn't be any glue in them at least. I've been burning some of those little cubic pallet separator blocks recently. Hopefully they're made the same way as the briquettes, as I normally use the ash from the wood burner around the garden.
-
As previously mentioned, you can just undo the wire if stretching is too difficult for you.

I saw those first chippers with various brands, it's hard to estimate who is the real manufacturer until you see this. I also did not want to maintain two engines and I think the center of gravity is quite high - not good for transport. While two engines may be advantage in case there is a failure on chipping engine, you can still move the machine, still you need to fill two tanks, change two engine oils... If I may publish a list of "similar" tracked chippers with no-stress and "notmadeinchina" then you may check: Eliet super prof cross country Rabaud vegetor 110C https://cippatore.com/biotrituratore.htm GL&D Titan Pro Tracked Hydrostatic (wo no-stress) GL&D Titan Super Tracked Bio Chipper but be prepared for a different price level, different sizes and different construction compared to OHASHI or this noname SZ130. IMHO this is also branded "noname" (does not have a no-stress): Titan Pro Tracked 15HP Petrol Wood Chipper 100mm Capacity WWW.TITAN-PRO.CO.UK Combining our beloved Beaver wood chipper with a tracked base combines both our best ever garden chipper with an incredible increase in mobilty. I do but they are €10 each here. Insignificant but annoying.

One is Spudded but they both do this.

There was a case a few years ago where someone took a tank for a drunken joyride, US somewhere I think - cops couldn't do anything about it either apart from keep the roads ahead clear. Just thinking about it, given the choice and if you're going to loose you license anyway (I am guessing they'll loose their license?), it is a great story to tell rather than "Had a couple too many and drove home in the company car" Edit: Watching again, hilarious old dear walking nonchalantly by in the last second of the video, seen it all before and not bothered even to stop to see whats happening
-
It was a pissed up joy ride by the sounds of it, so I doubt much forethought went into it at all.

That is not a good sign,😆 when reading this it filled me with dread knowing everyone wants to try not to pay out for more certs . But alot of it is in cpcs training. But I had the displeasure of driving a 3 ton grey thing , struggled lift 1/4 dumpy bag on a tight radius ! -
No, still thick.
