never really thought about pics, wasn't so many cameras like these days, no mobiles, not much internet, photos generally were more in the realms of "evidence" for the case. might have a few kicking about somewhere, I'll try and find some. and yes, I have had a full life, some of the things I have done , looking back were pretty extreme too.

Morning all. Late up this morning but I'm worth it. Been a good week, busy and interesting. Some river work, a wee crane dismantle, some formative pruning, and the company of a work experience lad. I've been impressed with a 17yr old that's been early every morning, hasn't touched his phone, has sound mechanical and tractor skills (he's from a farm), and a calm, problem solving attitude. And he went to the top of a Sycamore yesterday, no drama for a first time in harness. It's been heartening. We'll keep in touch with Jamie. A flavour of the week... Have a good one folks.

Got a ported 660, was running fine then after a few minutes cutting it would start to race, am I correct in saying this sounds like a seals gone? When adjusting the Carb/low/high it's difficult to get it to any sort of usable speed. I've checked the air intake boot and the seals on the carb which appear to be ok, can anyone recommend a pressure/vacuum gauge that would work? Any help is welcome. Thanks

Some pharmacists are allowed to assess "minor ailments" and prescribe antibiotics. I went to our local pharmacy but was told the pharmacist could only see ear infections for 17 years old or less. Then the man in his thirties in the queue behind was allowed to be seen for a presumed chest infection - seems a bit random/illogical. I used the NHS app to put a query in to my GP surgery and they issued a script for Otomize ear spray without needing to see me. They probably only felt happy doing this as my wife, a retired GP, had examined my ear and made the diagnosis. Otherwise I would probably have been told to go to the nearest walk in centre.

I can't see this migrant returns deal with France making much difference - whereas the Rwanda scheme started working before it even got off the ground. Next election hopefully won't go to Labour - Reform would be much more willing to dispense with interfering legal systems. Wishful thinking can be harmful, last election I was thinking 'hopefully won't go to Labour'. Even a literally hung parliament would've been better.

200L over six months works out as a litre a day. A couple of big saws would easily gobble that up. My previous 25L Rotatech oil, with still a couple litres left, was opened Jan '24.

Why aren’t they dredging the life out of it whilst it’s empty ffs?! Increase capacity without upsetting the enviro-huggers. It would be a fast, cheap and easy way of bolstering short-term storage.

Any pics? Not much you’ve not done!

Brilliant film, definite top 5 (with Jaws, Mad Max 2, Smokey and the Bandit and Return of the Jedi)…

I had an addiction for speed,,, no not that one,, the flat out on a motorcycle or car kinda speed, I had a bike 155mph straight out the factory, after a while became boring, started tuning it got it up to 178mph, then built a car 0-60 2.8secs top end 150mph, it would beat a fireblade off the line, then fitted nitrous oxide, another 100hp, on cheater slicks it would lift the front wheels 2 feet in the air on a launch, mate bought a real projectile of a Porsche, let me have a go in it, 162mph still got a gear to go, another mate built a bike up over the year he got banned for ,,yep you guessed right,, speeding, had it on the road first day of the licence back 212mph through the traps, didn't catch this time ,fold up plate. I have a chipped discovery 2 now, on 35"s goes anywhere ,,in comfort, probably get a ton out of ,never tried. people ask me why did you give up speed? is it 'cos your old,? no, when the fear of death is greater than the thrill of speed. you just change your driving style. that and the wisdom to know everyone has a camera now, even the five o.

but how would the process start, would you expect a government to implement it? is there a party that could even carry out such a task? or should we overthrow the establishment and seize control of the countries finances? seriously though, I think those in charge have too much to lose to even consider such a move.

It's an adrenaline addiction I think with most of them. Just the same as any other addiction. If I was that way inclined I'd choose to go jumping off a mountain or something, instead of on the end of a needle in some filthy squalid drug den. Thankfully I'm not that way inclined.
