Oak mantel piece

I finally decided to sand the oak mantel piece back to natural today. But I'm after a bit of advice on the best treatment for it. I've got Danish and pure tung oil to hand but don't mind buying a bottle if something else is more suitable. Thanks in advance

A mate told me to linseed it but that would make the living room smell like a chippy lol. Danish it is.

I love the smell of Linseed oil, it's nowt like chip oil :laugh1: After I sand I usually wipe down with white spirit before I apply anything, it opens the grain and if there are any rough bits it lifts them so you can find them and sand again before the finish goes on.
