Traversing oaks with the epple hook

Unfortunately my last vid I had to take down as the location it was filmed has a strict policy on cameras and filming so.... I thought i'd pop up into the forest and do a bit of traversing yesterday .

I left the film a little longer as it shows a bit more of the process which May be useful for the guys who have just started using a hook

Any questions feel free to ask

I was full of doubt until you used your pantin to take up the slack, genius!

I've never used a hook but I have pulled myself between trees for years and it's always hard work, slackening 1, tightening the other, 1 prusik too long, 1 too short or I'd just use the tail of my rope and just pull myself across and hold onto the rope while slackening my main line!

I could play in those trees all day with that set up!

Would you put some pics up of the hook please.

Traversing between trees means not having to come down for a brew between each tree.

It's a really bad idea.

It's only designed to be used on trees where the customer drinks cheap instant coffee.

Yeah it makes like a lot easier , I see a lot of guys using hand ascenders and 3 to ones and it's just extra clutter you don't need ImageUploadedByArbtalk1462614387.582601.jpg.fb54884e0410a9133020356e342ae79c.jpg that inco and pinto I use for ddrt redirects , srt redirects , progress capture and a second system .

After coming across these tree hook video's on Utube, I decided I wanted one.

Saw one in seddons and bought it...

Its the Captain Hook one, all I need now is a good tree to practice in....
