I always thought Cherry was susceptible to Silver Leaf disease, hence you need to cut them in the growing season. Do they coppice at all?

 

If you look at some of the street trees that have been pollarded ( read topped ) then yes they coppice well from a 5ft stool ! :001_smile:

Why cherry for src? I don't know much about it, but wouldn't a more traditional coppice choice like willow or hazel be better?

 

It was recommended, in a thread on this site, ref. growing SRC for logs/fuel! I live in Portugal in a major cherry growing region.
