Hi, what name; Latin, for cherry to grow for SRC for fuel.

Why cherry for src? I don't know much about it, but wouldn't a more traditional coppice choice like willow or hazel be better?

I always thought Cherry was susceptible to Silver Leaf disease, hence you need to cut them in the growing season. Do they coppice at all?

If you look at some of the street trees that have been pollarded ( read topped ) then yes they coppice well from a 5ft stool !

Cherry (Prunus Avium) coppices well, but be aware that deer are attracted to them like magnets.

It was recommended, in a thread on this site, ref. growing SRC for logs/fuel! I live in Portugal in a major cherry growing region.

Thought cherry had poor coppice regen but suckers profusely?
