I removed these two bits of dw from a yew zonks ago and have been storing them ever since, I was thinking of getting a stand made up for them, putting some lights In and prob bringing the smaller piece indoors.

Just wondered what people would suggest to bring the colour out a bit or wether anyone had a better suggestion for their use

mmmmmm ? I really like them and would probably spend a lot of time around them just looking and thinking before deciding what to do with them though ... they look a bit like driftwood , perhaps they could be sculpture in their own right or as you have suggested . lighting / lamps or part of some furniture creation ...

Although yew does come out like glass when finished with 240... Don't think it would suit those bits but would be interesting to try though... Outer wood tends to be white any way so don't know if you will gain much colour.
