Cheers for the response, what do they look like when fully loaded? How do they hold the weight? My mates Iveco will carry loads and loads but it shows yet another friends iveco doesnt seem to get any lower regardless of how much you put on it!!

Looks like I should be buying it though I thought they'd be worse on the fuel your figures equate to a rough 35 to the gallon!!

I used to drive one at a job i subbied to. It was a 02 reg, heavy truck but as its a bigger truck thats down rated to 3.5t you can keep on loading it up and it doesnt look any different and still pulls the same. Brillent bit of kit but i reckon it drank more dieel than my transit.

Loved it

I'm on the verge of buying a low mileage one owner 3..5tonne doublecab Mitsubishi Canter and thought I'd ask for opinions good or bad??

And whats the mpg like??

Thanks in advance:thumbup:

Sometime ago I bought a double cab tipper, caged, off another tree surgeon. I bought it at a good price knowing that 2nd gear was an issue. (grinding on engaging)..... Replaced the box with a recon at £1100 aprox.

Still a great truck, as stated a downrated truck, so brakes & exhaust brakes worked well, you could load it right up and it looked just fine.

Back axle started to whine, had it opened to see what was wrong.... oh dear just full of bits of unattached cogs and bits of. £4k job, no recon available,so sold to it to a Polish chap. He took transmission guys report, sorted it and sent it to Poland.

Nice truck, certain parts really expensive! Can't help you with fuel, never thought about it, at the time had a yard full of Volvo's & Scania's so it seemed really frugal!
