Macmillan 4x4 Challenge

Afternoon All,

In less than a month, Ninety teams will be setting off from Craven Arms in Shropshire for three days of cold, wet, mud, gravel, snow, seep deprivation, and brain twisting off road navigation challenges, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and the glorious honour of a shiny trophy.

My Brother and I are entered as 'Team 48' in memory of our very good friend and surrogate sister, Debbie, who lost a darn good fight against lung cancer last autumn. Macmillan are a hoofing charity who were outstanding in their emotional and practical support to my family and they deserve all the help they can get.

Although I don't want to detract from the Forum's brilliant association with the Children's Trust and the support for young Fred, we'd really appreciate any help towards our target of £600. Also if any other Arbtalkers are entered or know anyone who is then please send any donations their way instead, it all goes to Macmillan!

Many Thanks,

Dan & Ali White & Nessie the Landrover!

Good luck dudes :) I hope it all goes well and you win!!

December 2012 to present has been a hard year for my family due to my gran being diagnosed with cancer. Several charities including Macmillan have been helping her and our family throughout.

I had an afro, which I completely shaved off for charity last October and raised £928, split between three charities. I admire what you are doing, and wish you the best of luck.

:)

We finished!

An amazing weekend and we've raised at least £685 with a few more bits of sponsorship still to collect. The Mac 4x4 challenge has now soared past £1m raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The majority of the stages were held in Wales, with codeboard searches in the Radnor Forest and navigation challenges around the windfarms above Devil's Bridge. With the exception of a wobbly wheel bearing, Nessie coped admirably and covered over 500 miles, at least 100 of which were off road or on byways and has climbed over 44,000 vertical feet!

Thank you all for your support! The just giving site is still open at Dan White is fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support, and we're hoping to double our total for next year!
