Hi

Have been given a 1994 Aprilla sr 50 with some minor issues. I want to get it right and give to my younger cousin.

I know there a quite a few bike heads (maybe not scooter mind) on here, so perhaps you can recommend a good uk forum for such questions.

Thanks :thumbup1:

You want something like Scooter shack or sixteener special but really they are very simple. A few makes use the same power unit in different mopeds and you can get anything for them. Different belts and variator weights are what makes a difference to how they go and variators are restricted from the factory but easily modified. Is it a runner ?

What are the issues? Other than it being an Aprilia of course. ;)

Thanks lads, yeah its a runner, had been in a garage for some time, but started after a few kicks (no battery yet). Initially a problem with fuel starvation, but a new vacuum pump sorted that.

It had been driving well, but suddenly there was no drive power to the rear wheel, It is just about spinning off the ground but any resistance and its just stops. I'm not sure if these yokes are belt or shaft driven? Perhaps the belt has just stretched or slipped off?

My moped knowledge isn't too great. If we were taking about a geared bike I would suggest having a look over the clutch/ clutch cable.

I reckon the belt is a good shout though :thumbup1:
