Rigging rope

Got about £60-£70 for some rigging rope...

Is that sort of price going to get me anything worthwhile? Or should I dig deeper?

Knowing that at present I'm not looking to be in the "Go big or go home" gang, and will most likely be in the "Keep it small" brigade for a fair while, what size (mm) rope should I aim for? and what length? And lastly, what make?

Cheers in advance

Your only hope of a rope for that money is a generic rope off ebay to be honest mate. You're not going to find an arb specific rope for that money....not of any length anyway

Does this count?

12mm Sirius bull rope | F R Jones and Son

I use it at work, its great for smallish rigging.

I wouldn't rig lumps with it though.

£72, if you can afford an extra couple of quid

I will be doing the odd total dismantle, again, not chunking down huge portions, but some may have a bit of weight, simply to speed the dismantle up.

Should I be looking for 14 or 16mm ???

14mm Bull looks ok for price, but cant really find out much about it, other than the usual "For years, the Sirius Bull Rope has been a must-have item in the world of........." that appears on every site that sells it. Is it a static type rope with low stretch? is it a medium or high stretch? So little written about how ropes actually behave.

I have the sirrius in 12mm and 16mm

The 12 is light and easy to handle, more often than not I use it wit a Pinto Rig pulley. Makes for quick smooth work

If I were you I would go with the 12mm

I only use the thicker line for snatching big lumps.

Positive rigging, the line should easily handle most average bits. Try to avoid shock loading the bigger stuff.

I'm sure someone can offer average loads that this rope can take.
