Norway Maple...eaten?
Any ideas as to what is/(has been) eating it's way through this maple?
Pictures from phone so not too good...close-up is lowest branch....but you look closely at the second pic you can see it's all over the canopy. Is the tree doomed? |

Caterpillar damage.
Possibly one of the following Moths - Erannis defoliaria - Motled Umber Euproctis chrysorrhoea - Brown Tail Hyphantria curea Limantria dispar - Gypsy Operophtera brumata - Winter Moth Would not expect these to be fatal, but could lead to persistant weakening leaving the Tree open to Armilaria etc Can you get a picture of the Caterpillar? .
