Autocad for plotting trees
Sort of tree health care related... What programs to people use to plot trees in surveys? Cheers.

use GIS not CAD
oh no not CAD
 i would use a GIS rather than CAD purely as it is better for data management and spatial analysis/information, i use mapinfo as a desktop mapping system (but has gone up in cost to about £1200) and for field mapping and surveys i use a mobilemapperCE with Digiterra software (which is gaining popularity pretty fast) this is a very accurate dgps with great mapping facilities on it, I have used lots of different software for mapping both desktop and field use (it currently makes up about 90% of my office job) I have attached a review i did of the field software, from GIS Profesisonal magazine (and yes that is me in the advert!  )if you want more info or advice on software and equipment PM me your info and i will get in touch but please dont use CAD, |

I was asking in relation to Arb Implication assessment reports BS5837 rather then general surveys..
