Sparassis crispa - Cauliflower fungus
  • Large white/cream/light brown fruit body with small leaf like fronds.
Host Species
  • Cedar, pine, larch, douglas fir and other coniferous species
Mode Of Decay
  • Weakly parasitic on the roots of host, causing a brown rot that can extend into the lower stem.
  • Can lead to wind through
  • Europe & North America
  • resembles cauliflower and also sponge
