Triple action carabinas must be used in any primary or work positioning system.rule 2.2.11

There are a great number of things to take into consideration in a rescue situation.

The injured climbers system maybe damaged. This for all intense and purposes means that the connection between you and the casualty should be considered a primary connection.

Thereby requiring Triple action connectors.

Not really a de-rail, but if you were to stick a prussick (with a 3 way locking krab on the end) to the static end of your line and then to the casualty, could you then use "snap lock" krabs for attachment as the load is being taken by the prussik?

Hope that makes sense.

Tommy B ,There should not be a issue here as the primary connection is using a triple action and into the dead end of your system,Why when you already have a primary connection between you and the injured climber you would then use snap locks to make a second connection I do not understand???This just uses up valuble time..5 minutes goes fast when you start doing more than you need to when getting the casualty to the ground safely.

Guys if you have questions regarding comp regulations that you are unclear of you can e-mail me on [email protected]. As part of my capacity as Head Judge for the European tree climbing operations committee and member of the ISA rules committee, I am available to answer these questions if I cannot answer them I will bring it up with the rules committee and get you the answer
