Employment after completing 10 week Tree Surgery Course

In April I will be starting the "Intensive 10 Week Tree Surgery Course" at Otley College in Suffolk.

The course is mainly taught off site covering essentials such as Tree biology, pests and diseases, tree identification, tree hazard assessment and ecology.

I will also gain the following NPTC Tickets: CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39, and a First Aid Certificate.

I am planning for after the course, and am serious about doing what I can to go straight into employment with an established arboricultural business to work to do felling work and climbing. I want to ask whether there is anybody in the Woodbridge and Ipswich areas who would allow me an opportunity for employment.

I am 23 at the moment, and have grown up on a farm, Already have alot of experience using chainsaws for felling, bucking and cross cutting.

I am no stranger to manual labour, early morning starts, late finishes, and weekend work. I work and communicate well in a team, understand the place of PPE and safe work.

I would like the opportunity to prove to an employer this competence, with a view of getting a job. I will be more than willing to do an unpaid trial period. If anybody here can come back with any contacts, offers or advice I will be grateful.
