up to date qualifications?

Hi folks,

I'm back into trees after a few years off and am finding a lot of new regulations, requirements etc.

What i'm wondering is how my old qualifications stack up to whats expected now, particularly with regard to working on sites where now health and safety provides a lot of red tape.

My qualifications were from Merrist Wood back in 1996. NPTC 20, 21, 22

city & guilds 'tree surgery for craftsmen'. From the ten week course.

Also having fun trying to put method statement and risk assessment together, any pointers on this would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Alex

cheers guys,

Looking around various posts re. nptc certs, it now seems like mine are 'out of date'. I have the old blue book which according to nptc became no longer acceptable in 2005.

I have used this to hire saws recently and purchase new 200t a few months ago and also had it accepted for a couple of jobs on building sites I have done. My insurance company have also accepted it.

I want to be above board in this respect but don't want to go to the hassle and expense of re-training/testing if I don't have to. So I don't quite know where I stand. Has anybody else here been in similar position?:confused1:
