I too looked at these contraptions for personal use. The bit that put me off was the exorbitant cost and the worry it'd knacker my 18v drill in short order.

As a result I went manual and bought a set of locking Bailey rods which so far have only been used to clear a blocked drain. Caused by my other half who thinks grease, food waste and oil are all water soluble! :sneaky2:

Got a set of rodtech rods, expensive but in honesty they are amazing they ll clean a liner back to the clean metal no problem. What I would say is if you get a set you want button click in regards to fixing the rods together rather than the cheaper sets that Allen key together. Traditional brushes can't touch them Just my opinion. The other thing is if you have a chimney heavily tarred or blocked you can add a set of chains and smash the tar out so to speak. You ll want a half sensible drill to run them off though the more NM the better. Hope that helps
