And my other half wanders why I sneak off to the "out the way" workshop whenever I get chance on a saturday...

No its 2 hen birds (pheasants) although sometimes theres a "regular" herd of 18 fallow and a few roe about that frequent these fields.

Only a week left on the fallow does tho. Weve had 6-8 this season but don't want to push them away being greedy.

You guys in the west country and Scotland have definitely got the best views of unspoilt countryside .

 

Not in the same league but its none to shabby here in Guildford.

I could never up sticks and move away far. Down here we have Dartmoor and Exmoor, and beaches all within a 20-30 minute drive away. The money may not be so readily available and flowing as most countys but there are a lot of other bonus's and theres lots of bartering and "I owe you a favour" types that we where our way through.

The Surrey hills can be stunning, the view from Newlands Corner on a sunny clear morning takes some beating.

Must admit it is nice down that way, got a mate runs a shoot at eastnor castle and his boss has 2 or 3 more shoots at barnstaple.
