What is the going rate

I have three mature ash trees that need felling in my small wood. What is the going rate (ball park figure) for a free lance climber to fell a tree. I can clear the tree and brash once it is down so just (I say) need the trees felled. I am in the bucks/Herts boarders

If you have trees that need felling, I suggest you employ the right tool for the job.

I would have thought getting a 'forester' (tree felling specialist) in would be much more effective than getting a climber (tree climbing specialist).

Being a climber does not necessarily make you any good at felling, as the skill sets are totally different.

What is more, a climber will require a competent and suitably equipped rescuer (under the working at height regulations 2005) which will add alot to the cost.

Of course you could just get 'a bloke in from down the pub who does a bit of tree work' - in which case, it will probably be 70 quid. :sneaky2:
