Heard on the news this morning that it was being 'cut back' in an attempt to prolong it's lifespan. Anyone on here involved?

Surely the wood from that tree should have some added value being from an historic / famous tree if put to some use ?

I doubt it was topped, it's been managed as a pollard for quite a while as far as I know.

 

Devon twig, would you pay more for it's wood? :what:

250 is good for sycamore as far as I know, though pollarding can make a big difference to longevity. Maybe Mr Humphries could provide a better answer....

Although this one fell in a storm a few years back, I'm sure there's other notable ones..........
