Hitch climber advice

Hey everyone, i am a new climber and am wanting to move to a hitch climber system rather than the traditional prussik system. I am wanting to know what mm cord would be best to use? I climb on a 12.5 new england line and am planning to start with a distel knot as i have been told that it easyer to manage than a vt for beginers to the hc system...any advice on the system setup would be really helpful. Thanks

Ive forgotten the name of the cord but its black with green flecks in it. I got it from fjones.

Think its 8mm and i use it on ropes from 11mm too 13mm

Ring mark at buxtons he sort out a HC kit for you. Try a Swarbisch knot with it, I a numptie at knots but it a piece of pee to tie and it works real well

Lol ill check tomorrow but its defo a lot thinner than the 11mm rope. So i guess so 😕

Either way its a nice all rounder

You will end up tying a vt so learn 4 or 5 wraps with a double cross over or whatever they call it these days .

I sure black with green fleck is Sirius. And dark green with light green is ocean

the Sirius 10mm is green and black
