hi ,,thanks for nice comments, the bench is made from cedar, and the tree had been down for about 3months, but standing dead for a while I guess, cedar is very stable, and drys remarkable fast, its also not the heaviest of timbers, when I make these in oak its very hard to move with four of you, but in cedar you can manage, we turned it sideways to get it through the back garden gate,, there built to last and Ive had four in a local boys school for a yr now and still going strong. the off cuts I use for various uses ,from bird tables too cooking planks..
