Anyone have problems with golfers elbow??

Hey all, Just been doing a bit of research into the pain i sometimes get on the insides of both elbows - known as golfers elbow. It seems tennis elbow is more common among arb guys (pain on the outside of the elbow).

for me, its usually aggravated when i go bouldering and then things like ascending into a tree, picking up logs or wrenching on anything fire it up a bit more. It used to be much worse but i had 6 months off and that definitely helped.

Does anyone here have similar problems? any tips/advice?

heres some interesting info I've found so far...

Morning,

I had golfers elbow a few times over the last 4/5 years, not nice!

Get a compression strap similar to a belt normally they are Velcro fastened and wear it at the top of the forearm/ just below the elbow joint. Pain instantly goes away and you can continue like nothing is wrong.

They are on ebay for about £10.

Another guy at the gym had the same problem and was amazed how quickly it sorted it out.

I do.

I find it if i keep it busy, lifting light weights it gets better .. "for a while"

The pain is inside the elbow, i struggle to grip things. It's in my right elbow.

I find it if i keep it warm it gets ok for a while, also if i lift very light weights it gets better.

Had this for 2 years now.

The pain is there always, either very very bad, or just bad.

But i'm not letting this pain get in the way of things i have to do.

Keep it warm, lift weights, massage it on that spot very light.

The annoying thing is that it is very hard to grip something if i keep the arm straight out.

I just work around the pain.

Had tennis elbow after trying to start a reluctant McCulloch strimmer at a strang angle, took months to get rid of and was very painful.

There are some aids that are like rubber bands that you use to strengthen the extension or splaying of your fingers rather than the typical gripping motion that are supposed to help.

Mine took months to gp:thumbdown:

If I did have golfer's elbow I wouldn't admit to it in case anyone thought I play golf. :D I had injections for tennis elbow years ago but the only thing that helped was not doing what caused it which is not usually an option for most. A lot of "experts" frown on bandages and straps as causing more problems than they cure. I used to find the bag of frozen peas or corn was good for relief when it got painful.
