If you cant find an avant, we have used a 4x4 rabbit mower with diff lock on various jobs and is incredible, same size as your average ride on lawn mower but obliterates gorse, brambles, buddleja etc pretty much anything that you drive over it with... and its fun!

depends on site size but i do a serious amount of strimming/brush cutting yearly and really rate the stihl fs480 with either jet cut head and 4mm line or a blade.

 

may take a day or three but its methodical and leaves a presentable result.

 

current area i am on is 2 days solid and maybe an hr or two tommorow, 8 more areas to go then done for year so maybe 2 weeks yet on strimmer.
