Right then... what next?
Heh heh heh...
Also, I have a length of Yale Blaze to splice as a lanyard and would really appreciate any hints & tips anyone may have. I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Matthew

Samson sliding guides.
Looks like you got all the kit. Maybe some crabs and an anchor point.
It has a 24 strand outer and is of a double braid construction.
Class 1 double braid splice would be the correct splice. Samson cordage download
Work out your fid length Measurement (also availabe from samson downloads) and off you go.

Thanks, Whalleyrange. I have some steel krabs and an anchor point to yank off - all I need now, I guess, is practice and experience... And to download a stack of splicing guides!

Re: Right then... what next?
If you can get hold of the splicing manual by Samson its a nice little reference book.

Cheers, Tommy. I've tried looking for it online and by phoning Samson dealers, but no-one seems to have it.

Re: Right then... what next?
I got one from ebay. Think it worked out to be about £20. I use it a lot to just check measurements etc. Give Nod at Treeworker a ring and see if he has some. I think he has stuff that isn't on the website sometimes.

I asked when I ordered my stuff from Treeworker, but was told they didn't have it in. I'll check eBay though - good plan.

You can download the individual guides from the Samson website for free.
Is this your first double braid?

First splicing at all since doing a day's course on NE Safety Blue with Noddy back last year, Peter. Maybe I should've stuck with what I know!
