Andy hello and thanks for info, couple here from a job earlier this year we used trees to be felled as the anchor tree to both redirect and to keep wire to winch low, current job is back leaners over road, therefore the new cable! I hasten to add TM supplied by contractor with relevant certification and on double stop whilst risk is present, cheers for now j

Cheers Jerry. Looks like what i'm doing at the moment. Mine is all roadside Larch and its really back weighted.

Is that a 10 tonne or a 6 tonne strop cant see the number of stictches in it. Who makes your block and where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking.

Having a nightmare trying to find a block with a 20t SWL and 13mm pulley wheel.

I remember somewhere in the back of my head somewhere that some blocks are rated 3t SWL but can do that at a 2:1 mechanical advatage so load is 6 tonne on the anchor but each leg is 3t? This would make finding a block so much easier.

10 tonne wide strop , pulley hard to find I think this one 8 tonne rated @ 4 : 1 and 6.4 tonne @ 5 : 1 ? not to familiar with ratings! I would like a bigger circumference to pulley to be kinder to rope but loads a £ needed, I will find 1 1 day Mckissic usa like this one Mckissick 418 Snatch Block Hook 8 Ton Used | eBay

Thanks Jerry. Are you too getting lots of little kinks in the cable where it sits in the block tensioned? Bigger blocks 8t+ all seem to be 22mm cable and i'm not sure how the 13 will behave on them.
