My current set is Isuzu rodeo 3.0 & trailer - Ifor Williams 12 x 6.6 tipping trailer with sides. I'm thinking of replacing the Isuzu which has been a GREAT work horse, for a MWB transit 115 upwards. My main reason for this is tool space& days that we are doing small hedges I can leave trailer at home and bag the waste then chuck it in the van. I know my towing capacity will be lower than the Isuzu, however does anyone tow with a transit?? Some advise would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

aload of people use transits to tow horseboxes/trailers, they are spot on.

This weekend I've got to bring my caravan home from storage so I can remove all useful bits then drag the carcass to our local stock-car circuit for the next demolition derby.

My only concern is I'll be using my transit to tow it home - wonder if I'll get any hassles during that journey - I thought about giving a lift to a woman, a baby and a dog - then I realised to my horror - that IS my family!!!

Think I'll move on to the next lay-by.

It,s not so much the hp you need to look at but the model. Most of the best towing transits are the 350 models. They come in various engine powers. The lower models are only rated for around 1700kg towing capacity.
