Stupid comment on ash dieback

Was sent a copy of Broadleaf, the Woodland Trust magazine. On the letters page there is some idiot saying she hopes ash dieback arrives in Lancashire soon as she has lots of seedlings springing up in her garden which are hard to remove. She seems to have no idea of the problem... just beggars belief!

Was there any response from the editor?

She also said that in her local woods there were lots of ash saplings which looked nice from a distance but were outcompeting other native trees. I expect she's got better satellite reception now all those big pesky elms are gone and hopefully sudden oak death will make her views less boring.

It would be like an Irish person in the mid 19th century wishing that potato blight would come to their village so they could grow something else.
