Heya all. I'm after some information on the forces generated when rigging, on different parts of the rigging equipment. Can anyone recommend any reading ? Or like a work book ? Thanks

Wood Species - Moisture Content and Weight

 

My thinking is, with the above table (one aimed at brittish common trees would be better yet) I can actually tot up a slightly more accurate feel for how much weight I'm putting on the lowering kit. Thanks !

The Art And Science Of Practical Rigging by Donzelli and Lilly. Workbook and DVD, workbook alone was twenty something euros. For abstract forces US Army field manuals, Vehicle Recovery is good, principles are universal.

Hey mate. Hope your well, I'd second the art and science of practical rigging. It's got a pretty useful table in the back for most species we cover think the table works on a ft cubed piece or something.

No mate. It's soon on the list, been so wrapped up sorting other stuff out recently but want to do it to keep all my tickets updated soon.

Also as you said it'll be good for insurance purposes.

Have you got a big rigging job in the pipeline then?

haha exactly! no really Joe it's something i dont know enough about, haven't got the qualification but do plenty of it....
