Fire Damaged Ash

Unfortunately another fine veteran tree seriously damaged by fire. Its great to see the Council did not take drastic action by removing it though. Judging from callousing etc it was a while ago but good to see this tree is still standing proud and with the right management it could still be with us for a time yet.

Wondering whether to maybe approach Council and get this well used desire line redirected away and possibly plant species such as Blackthorn around it to protect even more?

If it was one of ours, we would possibly look to manage the ground around it.

Be that by planting, laying stuff around it etc.

Not sure we'd fence it off.

Maybe look to open up a new access route near to it.

Does the site have volunteers or local tree wardens?

Perhaps create a working party (with consent) and use it as an educational thing?
