After some advice on the best product to use for long term weed control .Tried various products over the years and the weeds start to grow back about two weeks after the weed killer takes effect.Hoping there is something that will clear weeds for at least 6 months or longer. Thanks

the trouble is you need to spray early in season when in the florette stage they take it in better than when growing mad. i now use a cda sprayer as already mixed so get better results downside machine is £350 plus the chemicals but will do 10.000 square mtrs with 5 ltrs that would be 10 knapsack full. so works out cheaper.

if using a knapsack then gallop is good mixed with chikara. the first kills them the second lays dorment in surface when they pop up it kils them good for a season.

and needs to be dry for 48hrs and a windspeed of force 2 or less. you will then get good results. any sign of rain or if its damp waste of time dilutes it and they come back with a vengence. hence got cda unless blowing a gale can spray as its droplets but has to be dry for 48hrs. and no mixing wwhen finished take off chemical put cleaner on clean it put in reverse so it goes back in container and can keep in truck ready for next time.

knapsack only use it for special spraying thats not mixed. so sits in shed majority of time.

The weeds grow on my drive which is 150ft x20ft and want to clear it.Even tried the weed burners as tried most brands of weed killers.Got that knot weed spreading from waste ground at the sides of my fence and is now appearing on my drive along with the rest.Sick of cutting it.

You need to find out who owns the waste ground and get them to deal with that. :001_smile:

Our drive is gravel and I simply sprinkle a few 1 kg bags of cheap cooking salt on a damp morning . Weed free drive in a week or so . Has to be damp so the salt will stick to the foilage . Bear in mind salt will harm plants . I also sprinkle salt on the old paving flags at my mums house . This helps kill the moss and the like on the patio .
