Thats pretty cool. It never ceases to amaze me how often people "label" trees, and how happy the trees seem to be to disregard what we think.

 

Oh, and for the record the quakers are Mandarins (Galericulat Aix?) :)

Mandarin ducks are very colourful, they will scrap pretty well with little owls for nesting holes in trees, we have a walnut tree local to us and each year the mandarins turn up and try to force out the little owls un-successfully,

 

that habitat is ideal for them, as the ducklings will have a softer landing when leaving the nest. If there are any big cavities in the trees they will probably nest in them!
