some photographs from this weekend.....

The first lot are taken at the now derelict nurseries which once served all the Royal Parks in London.....Didn't spend as much time as i would have liked but intend to in the future. Species found in a short time include.....rowan, ash, oak, birch, blackthorn, hawthorne, cherry, buddliea, hornbeam, beech.

A real Oasis and a good place to study pioneer species and the like as they all fight for survival.....not great with birds but the bird song was incredible too......couple of foxes, rabbits and much more i'm sure.

Last few photo's are 3 different stages of the unfurling of horsechestnut leaves.

Is it Richmond sean, or one of the other sites?

Hampstead is relatively interesting in that it's mostly secondary woodland after the grazing stopped 60 - 70 years ago.

The older Trees are now engulfed mainly.
