Pro bono Arb.......

We put together a working party to go in to a neighbouring LA's wood today.

Lifting above rides & a spot of coppicing.

We've got plenty on our own work programs, but the point was about helping out the less well resourced.

Won't be regular, but the conservation of a wood where this work probably wouldn't of happened is a good reason for us to share our experience & time for the benefit of others.

Was also a good oportunity to get members of our Arb, Woodsman & Conservation Teams working together to share ideas.

Even managed to get my old creeking hulk, up in to a canopy :sneaky2:

3 years on and we've had the chance to get back on board with this project & help out one of our neighbouring LA's.

This is Parkland Walk in Hornsey which is deep in the heart of London, its an old dis-used rail line that is now a Local Nature Reserve used by both joggers, dog walkers and wildlife.

A year on and another session of pro bono work for a local linear green walkway that provides public access for pedestrian commuters, cyclists, runners and dog walkers.

It was another stretch of the disused railway where we worked last year, from earlier in this thread.

A volunteer group made up mainly of local residents, manage the bramble and sapling incursion, but the lapsed sycamore coppice was a little out of their skill set so we offered our services for a few hours to open up light on to this dark stretch of urban wildlife corridor.
