Cheers, anywhere in NZ, North preferably, got family near Rotorua and Auckland.

Im in a big firm at the mo, got used to being just a number, but least the kits there when you need it!!!

Heard about Asplundh and Treescape, they look after you?

There's a Treescape crew based in Rotorua. They're part of the Hamilton outfit. I believe there's also an Asplundh base in Tauranga. I can give you the contact details for the Rotorua Project Manager if you PM me. Do they look after you? That's subjective so hard to give you an answer. Asplundh used to be the better of the big two but I haven't worked for them for a long while and I hear good and bad from both camps.

Cheers pal, that'd be great, ill pm when i get back to town tomorrow. Which firm are you from if you dont mind me asking!

I work for Taupo District Council (about 70kms south of Rotorua) and also run my own business on the weekends. Also trying to get my photography up and running too. I don't advertise my own business that much as word of mouth keeps me busy. Nothing big, just a tip truck, old Asplundh chuck and duck and two or three guys I can call in as subbies that I trust implicitly. I've worked for both Asplundh and Treescape. Asplundh were the better but that was back in 98-2000. Treescape had many positives and several negatives. There's a massive choice of work and some really really good guys to work with. I fell out with them big time in 2006 and was subsequently crow barred out. Even so, for ease of getting into a job, they'd be the first I'd lean on. The smaller firms I would suggest, will always be the better option if you want close knit and to feel wanted.

Pay rates probably slightly better at the smaller firms, I've heard Asplundh and Treescape are reasonably good employers, especially if you want to stick around and get extra tickets etc. Also try Franklin Trees, they are in South Auckland and Hamilton, both domestic and land clearing.
