Husky 3120 question??

I have a husky 3120, I bought it new last September, it's not had much use but today I had to cut up a large beech butt. I cut a couple of bits and the chain needed tightening so I started to do this when I noticed that there is no nose sprocket in the husky bar?? Surely this can't be right?? I really don't like the idea of the chain running around the tip like this. It's a 42" bar. Do GB or Cannon do bars with nose sprockets?( Rob D)

I appreciate any help anyone can give:)

Yes bigger bars often lack the sprocket nose; derived from boring back-cuts in monster redwoods I think. Not a fan and unneccessary here; drain power big time.

exactly what i was thinking

I have a 3120xp and have wondered the same we did have on our last one a Oregon 24" bar that had a spoke on it we have a 36" now and noticed i have to the run a little. loose to stop the bar going blue around the tip.

Always run chains slacker on bigger saws with bigger bars mate, it helps a lot :001_smile:
