Ropewrench ascending through crotches - help!

I had a big oak deadwood today, pretty sprawling.

I bagged in really high, base tied and set off.

Thing is, my working line was redirected, sometimes at severe angles, through several big crotches.

I flew up to them, then struggled like buggery to force my wrench and hitch through them.

Any advice?

A vertical, obstacle free ascent is nice, but this is real tree work.

Could you lanyard in, create some slack in your line, pantin up and over?

Stick your non-pantin leg into the crotch and push away a little.

Gerbutt, that would mean raising my foot to above knee level.

Keep your chest loop clipped in, use both arms to push your body away from the fork and lift yourself through with the pantin

Use your lanyard as a a short main line to take the load and then pass Ropewrench setup through crotch before reattaching?

It doesn't require disconnection or having another branch to stand on, so will usually work for the majority of redirects

I'm very new to single line but I'm really enjoying it and I'm trying to absorb all the useful tips I can.

 

Do you find that you disconnect often when climbing back through natural redirects or is that my inexperience?
