Hi folks,

I am new to this and already looking for some help I have a beech tree that has come down in my back garden my cousin who is an engineer done some measuring and calculations and he has worked out it weighs around 12 tons now my question is how many builders bags (950cm x 950cm) would I get out the tree. I dont want to sell it I want to share it between myself my dad and my uncle we each burn around 6 bags each per winter. I have read you get 5 bags out 1 ton of wood is that correct ?

Standard builders bags are close to half the size of the bags you mentioned so that would be closer with you getting 4 per ton. There are various bag sizes available. Work on approximately 1/2 tonne per m3

Just checked some builders bags I have here. They are 0.8m x 0.8m x0.8 m so 0.512m3 per bag.
