Old stihl disc cutter

I'm going to start a thread about this stihl ts50 disc cutter I bought on eBay. I'm going to try to get it running, put a bar on it and cut some wood! And if I get really keen then I may try repainting it and restoring it properly. Going to keep a note of everything I spend on it too

I stripped the starter mechanism as it was a bit sticky and dry and put it back together but it still didn't work so after some questions on spuds bench thread and a you tube vid, I took the bit in the second pic apart and turned the dogs round. One end of each dog was rounded and burred. One looked new put it all back together and it now catches on the cup,

Yes it's worn out but should last a bit

Those dogs can be filed back to correct squareness if they're rounded off.

Is that same engine as 075?

On the old one we have, the decompression valve turns round if twiddled, but it clicks in to use. Has been prone to loosen it's way out occasionally which was a pain.

Good luck with your clean up job. Have got a cannibal 075 but not sure what's left of it!

Cheers, John.
