Greenmech cm170

Hi all

 

Need desperate help I brought a greenmech cm170 I was told it was a 2002 machine with 900hrs I paid £4400 for it 2 days in th use it over heated and died I got it looked at and piston rings and head gasket had failed in desperation I send it to my engineer to have the engine checked pistons were fitted the wrong way round all the rings were ruined I phoned greenmech amd it turns out the machine was a 1996 I dnt know what to do it has pretty much forced my company to be shut down and its cost me £1600 to rebuild the engine plus £4500 in rentals I cnt do it anymore I dnt want loose my company does any one know where I can get help for my situation

 

By the way the guy who sold it was called tom and his truck was labeled harvey tree care or services

I hate to say it but I don't think you will get much luck trying to get money out of the seller. You should have satisfied yourself that all was good and unless any warranty was mentioned then - you bought it as seen. Terribly sorry....Good Luck for your future, get your head down and graft.

 

It wouldn't have been a CM170 from 1996, we didn't make them then.

 

As a lesson to all buyers of anything, please be careful and cautious with a used tool. Take someone who knows about machinery, get the serial number, talk to the original source and walk away if it smells peculiar. Something else will turn up.
