Greater Manchester TreeStation is a not-for-profit social enterprise involved in arboriculture, woodland management, biomass fuels and timber. Our primary aim is the reduction of carbon emissions through the re-use and upcycling of virgin timber arisings. The TreeStation is based in central Manchester, and is an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor operating throughout the North West, undertaking tree work and consultancy for a range of domestic and commercial clients.

 

A full time vacancy has arisen for the position of Arboricultural Manager and we are looking for the right person to join our team. The Arboricultural Manager’s role involves the daily and routine management of up to three tree work teams, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and ArbAC criteria. As a senior manager, the Arboricultural Manager works closely with the Managing Director at a strategic level across other areas of the business.

 

The successful applicant must have a dedication to sustainability and environmental concerns, and will also meet the following essential criteria:

Hold a minimum level 3 arboricultural qualification, preferably level 5 or above.

Have at least five years industry experience outside of education.

Experience in supervising/managing a tree work team.

Full driving licence.

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Be computer literate and competent with modern IT systems.

 

Additionally, the ideal applicant will hold some or all of the following qualifications: Relevant NPTC units, CSCS, NEBOSH/IOSH, IPAF operator’s licence, NRSWA signing lighting guarding supervisor, first aid at work, PTS, Lantra PTI, AA Risk Assessment for Commercial Arboriculture. Experience of GIS and CAD, and business management is also desirable.

 

Starting salary is £25,000 to £31,000, depending on experience.
