Steve - I'm guessing guy on the rope had enough pressure on it to stop it sitting back and pinching bar, then as cut went through same pressure pulled it almost butt first.

 

Hopefully he doesn't make habit of holding saw like that either as I wouldn't fancy getting kickback in that position.

The young man on the ground needs telling that you should never ever wrap a tag line round your hand . Seen the wind catch the top of a conifer once and it went the wrong way .The groundie had the line wrapped round his hand . He made an epic 20ft leap across the garden . Afterwards he remarked by saying he was airborne . Lucky for him no injury occurred .
